Episode Recap

Episode 106 | Season 1 | 10/29/2007

After spending years sequestered in a government lab, prodigy Lazslo escapes, evading a scary agent. At Buy More, all the green shirts are in the back watching a blindfolded, half-naked Morgan play the final round of Mystery Crisper - identifying old employee food. Big Mike pulls Chuck into his office to remind him that an HR guy is coming from corporate to do interviews for the Assistant Manager job. Big Mike warns Chuck not to let Morgan be an anchor around his neck.

At home, Ellie prepares for the annual Halloween party. Chuck and Morgan's tradition - a two-man costume of the sandworm from Dune. Ellie thinks the worm is creepy, though not as creepy as Captain Awesome's fig leaf, which is part of his "Adam" costume. Big Mike calls Chuck, asking for Morgan, who's supposed to work a double. Morgan's playing Guitar Hero at the arcade on the Santa Monica pier. Chuck flashes on Morgan's opponent - Lazslo! After a brief chat, Lazslo recognizes Chuck's spy watch as something he designed for the CIA and runs off.

Sarah's waiting for Chuck in his bedroom with a surprise: a photo of them at Comic-Con dressed as Han Solo and Leia in the metal bikini. They look like a real couple, but they've never actually been to Comic-Con. Chuck reports that Lazslo identified him, and Sarah assures him she'll check it out. Chuck sadly asks Sarah if she'll hang out for about 42 minutes, since he has to make Ellie think he's getting lucky to maintain his cover.

Casey lays into Chuck at work. What does he have to do to get timely intel? He asks Chuck what he told Lazslo about the watch, and Chuck admits he said Sarah gave it to him. Now he's compromised her as well. Chuck lays into Morgan when he spies him televising a customer's thong on the wall of TVs. If Morgan doesn't grow up, he'll work retail for life and drag Chuck down with him.

Casey conferences with Beckman from the Pentagon in the home theater room. Lazslo is a genius weapons designer who's been with them since he was 17. He's so dangerous, they can't afford to lose him. In the parking lot, Chuck is accosted by a guy in a mask - Lazslo. He points a gun at Chuck's head, trying to convince him that he's not a murderer - he was framed. He knows Casey is talking to the Pentagon inside. They fight for the gun, which turns out to be a water pistol. Lazslo asks Chuck to help him clear his name. But first - pancakes.

Lazslo eats pancakes while sketching on a napkin, explaining that he's kind of like Q in the Bond movies, which he's never seen. Lazslo is amazed to be bonding with someone. Chuck says he's a "computer guy." Meanwhile, Morgan asks Ellie if he's immature, and she has to concur. Captain Awesome gives Morgan "man" lessons, telling him to tuck in his shirt, fix his hair, and always speak his mind.

Lazslo admits that if he could do it over, he would never have gone to the Santa Monica pier when he was a kid. Some agents saw him playing Tetris at the arcade, gave him some tests, and then offered to pay for his school, so his parents turned him over to the government. He gives Chuck his napkin doodle as payment for the pancakes, but refuses to trust Casey and Sarah. If Chuck doesn't believe him, he should search his house for bugs.

Chuck finds bugs all over the house, even in the photo Sarah just gave him! He huffs over to Casey's feeling violated. Casey's nonplussed - his ears have been violated, having to listen to hours of Chuck and Morgan discussing what sandwiches they'd bring to a deserted island. Meanwhile the scary agent visits Sarah at Weinerlicious. He informs her that Lazslo is mentally unstable, off his meds, and looking to make a bomb. They need to bring him in.

Lazslo surprises Chuck in his bedroom, asking to be hidden just for tonight. Chuck takes him to Buy More, and they watch "A View to a Kill," featuring Max Zorn as the bad guy. Lazslo asks Chuck for his watch, so he can disable the transponder, and smashes it, so they can't be tracked. He admits that he also disabled the GPS on Chuck's Nerd Herder. Sarah calls, but Chuck won't pick up, so she leaves a message telling him to lock himself in the Nerd Herder.

After the movie, Lazslo scares Chuck, linking into Strategic Air Command and targeting San Francisco for thermonuclear extinction. Chuck persuades him they should watch "Goldfinger" instead and checks his messages, then runs to his car. But Lazslo is already there. He pops another steering wheel out of the glove compartment and takes off as Casey and Sarah give chase. Lazslo presses a red eject button and jettisons Chuck into traffic.

The next morning, Chuck apologizes to Sarah for not trusting her more. She tells him that it's okay; somehow the Nerd Herder GPS got turned back on, and Casey's on Lazslo's trail. It's Halloween and the day of Chuck's interview, but everyone thinks Morgan is in costume when he arrives at work in a tie. Chuck flashes on Lazlo's napkin doodle, and realizes that he's on his way to the Santa Monica pier.

Chuck blows off his job interview, races outside, steals a bike and rides for the pier. Morgan steps into Chuck's interview to speak on his behalf. Chuck finds the Nerd Herder under the Santa Monica pier with a bomb wired under the hood. Lazslo throws him the key. When Chuck catches it, it recognizes his fingerprint and arms the bomb. Lazslo tells Chuck to cut the red wire and disarm the bomb, just like in "Goldfinger." Realizing that Lazslo has lied to him, Chuck cuts the green wire and stops the bomb in the nick of time.

Chuck returns to Buy More looking for Morgan. New Assistant Manager Harry informs that Morgan stood up for him, and that someone stole Morgan's bike. Chuck rushes home where the Halloween party is already underway with Morgan looking desolate. Chuck apologizes to Morgan, and offers to let him be the head of the worm this year. Chuck admits to Ellie that he blew off the interview, but Sarah steps in to say that he had to help her with a personal emergency - Chuck's a hero! Dressed in her costume from Comic-Con Sarah takes a picture of her and Chuck. It's time for a new photo - of a real experience.

Episode Recap

Episode 105 | Season 1 | 10/22/2007

It's time for an evening with Morgan; Chuck, Ellie and Sarah are invited. The evening will have three acts: A take-out dinner of sizzling shrimp from Bamboo Dragon, a screening of "Enter the Dragon," and illegal fireworks bought off the street in Chinatown. Chuck puts the kibosh on the fireworks, fearful of losing his fingers. Meanwhile, Chinese businessman Lee Cho is kidnapped right outside the Chinese Consulate and dragged into the Bamboo Dragon delivery van.

The Bamboo Dragon is closed for a private party, so Morgan finds a kitchen worker's hidden key and lets himself in the kitchen. Chuck sees a waitress and has a flash. Mei-Ling Cho is a Chinese intelligence agent, who is on U.S. soil for the first time. After reporting to Washington, Casey gives Chuck a pile of files to go through, telling him to blow off dinner - he may be the only one able to figure out why Mei-Ling is here.

Ellie's pissed that Chuck didn't show for dinner, leaving her with Morgan. He offers the excuse that Sarah was sick with a spastic colon. Tomorrow is Ellie and Chuck's special version of Mother's Day, and Chuck better not miss it. Chuck didn't find anything in the files, so Casey tells him he will come along on a stake-out of Bamboo Dragon. Big Mike sets up a sales contest for the green shirt employees. Whoever comes in last place will be fired. Morgan is worried, given that he's the worst salesman ever.

Morgan knows his sales skills are nonexistent, so he of course asks Chuck to help. Chuck has plans, but promises to try to fit Morgan in after the stake-out. Goons wheel Ben Lo Pan's wheelchair to a limo waiting outside Bamboo Dragon. Mei-Ling follows him on her motorcycle to a Chinese club. Chuck flashes on Mei-Ling's gun and claims she's there to assassinate Ben Lo Pan, so Casey and Sarah follow her into the club, telling Chuck to stay put.

Mei-Ling starts shooting up the club, and Ben Lo Pan escapes. Chuck sees him outside, and helps him into the limo, shocked when some goons muscle Lee Cho into the trunk and drive off. Mei-Ling tells Chuck that Lee Cho is her brother, and Ben Lo Pan is Triad. Chuck apologizes for blowing it. Casey calls into Washington. Mei-Ling's story checks out, and she has left her country without permission to help her brother. Casey and Sarah want to stay out of it, but Chuck wants to help. What if it was Ellie?

Mei-Ling calls the Nerd Herd phone to tell Chuck that her brother is scheduled to die in nine hours, and he has to help with the rescue. Chuck asks Sarah and Casey how Mei-Ling could be valuable - what if he can convince her to defect? Chuck accepts a delivery in the storage cage, shocked when Mei-Ling pulls a gun on him. She claims she will never defect, but Chuck manages to persuade her, forcing Casey and Sarah to agree to help rescue her brother.

Mei-Ling has a floor plan of Ben Lo Pan's estate, where her brother is being guarded by a private army. Recognizing the security cameras can be remote accessed, Chuck offers to help, as long as he is back in time for Mother's Day. Meanwhile, Morgan almost makes a sale to a hot woman, but winds up telling her that what she wants is cheaper at another store. She offers her phone number, but Jeff and Lester out Morgan. If he would sell instead of scam, he might not still be living with his mother. The woman asks for her number back.

Chuck stays in the van watching the estate's security cameras and directing Sarah, Casey and Mei-Ling. Just as they reach Ben Lo Pan, the cameras all go dark. Ben Lo Pan informs that the Chinese have refused to pay for Lee Cho, but now that he has a few agents, he's sure to get some cash. The captives are loaded into the Bamboo Dragon van and taken to the restaurant where they are shoved in a freezer.

Chuck blows off a call from Ellie to tail the van. Ellie hangs out with Morgan, and he comforts her, telling her what a good sister she is. Morgan knows he's going to lose the sales competition, and plans to fall on his sword before he can be fired. Chuck buys some fireworks from Morgan's dealer, and throws them into the Bamboo Dragon van. When the goons run out, he sneaks into the restaurant and frees everyone from the freezer. A big fight ensues, but in the end Lee Cho is rescued and Ben Lo Pan is caught.

Back at home, Ellie's upset. When did she and Chuck start keeping secrets? Ellie claims to know Chuck's secret: he hasn't had a girl in a long time, and now he's in love. Not only did Chuck miss their most important day, but does he even know that Morgan is about to be fired? Chuck begs to reschedule for the following evening.

Morgan is just handing in his letter of resignation when Lester informs that there's a big spender in the store asking for Morgan specifically. It's Ellie, and she's buying early gifts to help out Morgan, putting him into second place. Casey and Sarah congratulate Chuck on his good work. He's reunited Mei-Ling with her brother, and convinced her to defect.

Ellie invites Morgan and Sarah to Mother's Day. Chuck tells Ellie that wasn't necessary and that she'll always be his best girl, but she hopes not. Chuck explains that Mother's Day is to celebrate the day when their mother left, and he and Ellie learned to take care of themselves. Morgan asks Chuck for Ellie's hand in marriage. When he realizes she's overheard, he leaves before she can tell him to. Chuck's just thrilled to see Morgan and Ellie get along for twelve hours. It's a Mother's Day miracle!

Episode Recap

Episode 104 | Season 1 | 10/15/2007

Sarah, Chuck, Ellie, Captain Awesome and Morgan play a spirited game of "Know Ya" while someone watches from outside. When asked who Chuck hates most, Sarah guesses his Buy More nemesis Harry Tang, but Morgan corrects her - it's Bryce. Things get awkward when Morgan blabs on all the reasons why Chuck hates Bryce. Walking Sarah to the car, Chuck admits he wishes he could access her file with his mind so he could know everything about her. He asks about Bryce, and Sarah says they were partners, but not exactly friends.

Sarah's about to get in the shower when she sees a reflection in the faucet. Shoving a bar of soap in a stocking, she battles a ninja who she finally recognizes as old pal Carina, a stunning DEA Agent. Carina thinks LA is dullsville and is only in town to steal a diamond... with Sarah's help. The next morning, Chuck passes Carina in the courtyard and has a flash - she recently did a job in Argentina and was redacted.

Chuck busts into Casey's apartment where Casey and Sarah video conference with the General and Graham, who want them to use Chuck to find the diamond. Sarah thinks Chuck's too valuable, especially since Carina is a wild card who can't be trusted. Casey doesn't want to work with her either, after what happened in Prague. The General knows all about Carina, ordering the team to get the diamond from opium financier Peyman Alahi's heavily guarded Malibu compound and hand it over to the NSA.

Sarah introduces Chuck to Carina, telling her that their mission is top secret, and their cover is boyfriend-girlfriend. Morgan is instantly smitten, and tells the guys at work about superhot Carina. When Carina shows up at Buy More to question Chuck, Morgan calls in a favor, asking Chuck to get him a double date with her. Chuck asks Sarah, telling her to say no, but she thinks it's a great idea, and sets it up.

On the double date, Chuck wants to watch a movie, but Morgan wants to talk so he can get to know Carina. Has she always been this hot? Morgan keeps talking after Chuck turns on the movie, asking Carina if she likes to travel. Chuck mentions that Carina just got back from Argentina, and everyone shuts up. In the middle of the night, Morgan calls Chuck several times in a row to see if he heard anything from Carina. Chuck hasn't. He's just trying to get back to sleep when his phone rings again - Nerd Herd emergency!

Chuck reports to the emergency - it's Carina, who admits that she lied to get him to her hotel room. Chuck couldn't have known she was in Argentina unless he had a really high security clearance. She takes off her robe for seduction, and Chuck gets out his phone to call Sarah, but Carina knocks it away. She asks if he's having sex with Sarah, and does he know about Bryce, Sarah's old boyfriend?

The next day Chuck is non-responsive as Sarah briefs him on mission plans. They're going to a party at Peyman's seaside mansion to steal the diamond. She tells him to stick close to her because Carina's impulsive and not to be trusted. Once, Sarah had to dig Carina out of big trouble in Pakistan. Chuck's relieved, admitting Carina told him something which must not be true. But when he mentions what he heard about her Bryce, he can see it in Sarah's eyes - it was complicated. Chuck comments that for a spy Sarah's not very good at lying.

At the party, Carina tells Chuck that she knows Sarah must have said she's impulsive, but he should trust her anyway. She points out Peyman at the pool in swim trunks - the Wookie. Sarah scolds Carina for blowing her cover with Chuck. Carina fires back, telling Sarah she should keep her work and private lives separate. Carina breaks into a bedroom, as Chuck wonders if this was the kind of thing Sarah and Bryce used to do.

The diamond is in a protected chamber filled with antiquities where Peyman and his goons find Chuck, Sarah and Carina. Peyman's not worried - if anyone tries to steal anything, the chamber locks down and gas is piped in. When Sarah lures Peyman into the hall, Chuck has a flash and warns Carina that the diamond's pedestal is charged with 40,000 volts. She needs compressed air to knock the diamond off. Carina grabs a fire extinguisher and sprays the diamond off its pedastal. All hell breaks loose as Chuck grabs the diamond.

Chuck, Sarah and Carina escape to the beach. Not trusting Sarah, Chuck tosses the diamond to Carina, who rips off her dress and escapes on a jet ski. Sarah's pissed off, but Casey has a tracker on Carina's phone, and promises to retrieve the diamond. Carina stops by the hotel and bumps into Morgan. When she spies Casey, she pulls Morgan into a kiss and drops the diamond in his bag, then tells him their affair is over. Casey ransacks Carina's hotel room looking for the diamond, but she once again pulls off her clothes to seduce him.

After work, Sarah benches Chuck, and proceeds to Carina's hotel, where she finds Casey handcuffed to the bed, but no sign of Carina. Chuck drowns his sorrows in X-box with Morgan, telling him about his first fight with Sarah. If she had only told him the truth... Morgan tells Chuck to get a new X-box game in his bag, and Chuck finds the diamond. Chuck has another flash - the diamond belongs to an Afghani terrorist group, and is more dangerous than they originally thought.

With Peyman's gun in her back, Sarah calls Chuck, asking him to find Carina and bring the diamond to the hotel. A black clad ninja attacks Chuck, but he recognizes Carina. She wants the diamond, but doesn't want to help Sarah, so Chuck reminds her that Sarah saved her life. At the hotel, Peyman tells Carina she's surrounded. After exchanging a few words in what sounds like Russian, the girls fight all the goons as Chuck locks himself in an office with the diamond.

Chuck packs the diamond in a FedEx box and holds it over a mail chute as an armed goon breaks into the office. Casey knocks out the goon, and in the excitement, Chuck drops the box down the chute. Later, the General congratulates the team on a job well done as the package is delivered to her. Carina says her good-byes, trying once again to seduce Chuck, but only because she loves taking what Sarah wants. And she knows Sarah wants Chuck, even if Sarah doesn't know it yet.

Chuck brings pizza to Sarah's for a make-up dinner. He apologizes for his behavior on the mission, and admits he can understand why she went for Bryce. He just wishes that he could know one true thing about Sarah, like where she grew up or her middle name. Sarah looks sad and remains silent. When Chuck is out of earshot, she says her middle name is Lisa, but he doesn't seem to hear.

Starts out in Tehran, Iran looking at a Monet-like water lilies painting that is in a run down room with other paintings. Two men are looking at the painting and then one of them shoots the other one and takes the painting.

Next scene opens on a fragile crate in the Madrid, Barajas airport two weeks after the the first scene. A man with a pony tail opens the crate to reveal the same water lilies painting. The pony tailed man then shoots the man who had stolen the painting from Iran and takes the painting.

The next scene opens with a cloth covering being removed from the water lilies painting. A British man thanks the man with the pony tail and gives him a briefcase full of money. Then the British man shoots him.

One month later in northeast Los Angeles...
A gun is being pointed at Chuck's head and he is begging the person not to shoot. A kid, at the Buy More, complains that thats is the problem, that is can't shoot. Chuck offers to fix it without any hesitation and fixes it with a balled point pin. The kid starts playing the video game again. Harry Tang walks up behind them and tells Chuck that Big Mike wants to see him but Chuck tells him that he is with a customer. Tang leaves but then Big Mike comes up behind him and demands Chuck to come immediately. Chuck whispers to the kid to pause the game.

In Big Mike's office Big Mike grills Chuck on what he wants out of like and where he sees himself in the next 5 to 10 years. A question Chuck is not able to answer. Big Mike indicated that if Chuck wants the Assistant Manager's position that he needs to prove that he both wants it and can handle it.

Chuck leads the other Nerd Herders into the back room and explains that they have 2 days to fix a bunch of old computer equipment or Big Mike will give the Assistant Manager's position to Tang. Morgan then bursts in to inform Chuck that Sarah is there to see him.

Chuck walks up to Sarah in the front part of the Buy More and asks him to kiss her. He awkwardly tries to do so for their "cover" and then she leads him to the home theater room. Casey sees them go in there and beelines for the theater room. Morgan tries to stop him but Casey knocks him over. Sarah brings out pictures of all the men that were shot at the beginning of the episode. Sarah and Casey hope he will flash on them but then Jeff walks in on everything wanting to nap in there. Chuck flashing on the picture of the water lilies painting that is on the front of the newspaper Jeff is carrying. He sees "La Ciudad", " Art Auction tomorrow night", CIA documents, weapons, and the water lilies painting from before. And Chuck concludes that La Ciudad will be at the Art auction tomorrow night.

At Chuck's home Ellie congratulates him for the Assistant Manager's job that he doesn't have yet. He talks about the not so outstanding perks associated with the potential raise. Then Ellie and Morgan start to discuss Chuck and his past, present, and future as if he wasn't standing right next to him. So Chuck reads a magazine.
Flash to Sarah's apartment, located in Chuck's building, where Sarah and Casey are getting debriefed about La Ciudad. La Ciudad was last tracked by MI6 in London but they lost him. Sarah hopes to catch him at the art show but since no one has ever seen La Ciudad and lived they do not have any idea what he looks like. Casey decides that they should take Chuck with them because everything known about La Ciudad was put into the computer that is now in his brain. Flash back to Chuck's apartment where Morgan and Ellie are still talking about Chuck's life and if he is ready for the real world or not when Captain Awesome joins in on planning things out for Chuck. When they finally ask him what he wants to do he goes to bed with a simple "Good Night Team Bartowski."

When Chuck enters his room he is surprised with Casey staring at him through his open window informing him that he has been assigned his first mission and "Hope you're ready for the real world."

(Opening Credits)

At the Buy More, Chuck is grilling Casey on what he should wear on the mission. When Chuck asks what kinds of moves he might need in a fight Casey asks him if he knows how to Tango, leaving Chuck quite confused. He then walks off to go work on the old computer equipment that Big Mike had wanted the Nerd Herders to fix when Morgan shows him that Sarah has just come in and is ready to leave for their "date." Lester and Ann tell Chuck that everything is almost done and that he is free to go. Sarah and Chuck go over his cover for the evening which ends up being a version of himself that he had though would have come true post Stanford graduation. They banter a little about Bryce's betrayal as well.

Back at his apartment Chuck asks Ellie if she knows how to tango and explains he that he thinks he might need it that night. Then Captain Awesome comes out of a room in his boxers and offers to teach him how to tango. As Chuck and Awesome tango a montage of Sarah, Casey, and Chuck getting dressed for the evening out.

In the limo preparing to enter the art auction Sarah gives Chuck a watch with a tracking device. Chuck reveals he learned how to tango and Sarah and Casey start to laugh as Chuck realizes that it was just a bit of spy humor at his expense.

Back at the Buy More the rest of the Nerd Herders and Morgan are finishing up the last of the broken computers when Tang comes in with a cart full of more broken computer parts. Everyone tries to bail but Morgan convinces them to do it for Chuck, and if that isn't enough, to do it so that Harry Tang won't become their boss. The latter motivates them to go back to work.

Back at the auction Sarah and Chuck are walking around and while trying to eat an Hor D'oeuvre he spills soy sauce on his tux. In the bathroom he sees the same British man who was last seen with the painting and sees the La Ciudad CIA paperwork. He goes straight to Sarah to point out the man as La Ciudad. The man obviously suspects Chuck of knowing something and watches him carefully. As Sarah and Chuck go into the art gallery she tells him to go wait over at the bar while she does spy stuff. The bartender turns out to be Casey. A man shouts out Chuck's real name and turns out to be an old acquaintance from Stanford. He brags about being too young to retire but too rich to work while Chuck over glamorizes his Buy More job by saying that "I may be getting a managerial position at an electronics conglomerate." The man offers Chuck his card and Chuck flashes on it and says out loud the information he saw about how the guy was involved in illegal insider trading and had off shore accounts. This makes the guy assume Chuck works for the SEC, snatches his card from Chuck and runs away. While this is going on Sarah is seen chatting with the British man Chuck identified as La Ciudad.

Back at the Buy More, everyone is sitting around eating pizza and talking bout Chuck and his unusually hot girlfriend. Lester thinks something is off and Jeff suggests that she is a prostitute. Morgan tells them to stop talking about it and to get back to work when he accidentally locks himself in the caged off storage space where all the computers are. The door is broken and only Harry Tang and Chuck have the key that will open it. The Nerd Herders proceed to leave Morgan alone with the computers, that according to him, "freak me out!"

An increasingly drunken Chuck asks for another drink from Casey when Casey sees Sarah get pushed out of the room with a gun pointed at her back. He hops over the bar to follow them and tells Chuck to "Stay!" Chuck is drunkly offended and gets up to move around the room where he sees the water lilies painting but with a different frame than the one in the pictures.

A beautiful woman comes up and starts to make small talk about the painting with Chuck. When he mentions that he is more interested in the frame she looks at him in a calculating way. The two start to drink wine while looking at the painting when music starts to play and the woman asks Chuck to tango. Chuck has unfortunately learned the girls part of the tango from Captain Awesome. Up on the roof Casey is hiding in the stairwell waiting for the right time to strike as La Ciudad points a gun at Sarah, demanding to know who she is and who she works for. Casey jumps in and shoots the henchmen and Sarah breaks free. They declare that they are federal agents and then the man declares he is a member of MI6, the British Secret Service. He is not La Ciudad. He has been tracking La Ciudad through 5 countries. He says that they had intercepted a painting with plutonium in the frame and decided to let things proceed so they could catch La Ciudad with a fake painting. Which now raises the question... who is La Ciudad? At that moment the tango is fishing. When the beautiful woman dips Chuck he sees a scar on her neck which causes him to have a flash and he realizes that this WOMAN is La Ciudad.

Morgan has been calling Chuck nonstop and finally calls the place the auction is being held at. He ends up having his cover blown right in front of La Ciudad who has him escorted out of the room at gun point. Sarah and Casey go running back to the auction to find Chuck but find him gone. At that moment Chuck is in a hotel room tied to a chair being threatened with torture and death by La Ciudad. They pick him up to throw him out the window when he screams out that he thinks the painting is a fake and they set him down. He explains how the painting has a different frame so he thinks it is a fake painting and then La Ciudad points a gun at him and asks him how to fix a computer. Outside Casey and Sarah are following the tracking device in Chuck's watch. Inside the room Chuck has started to bore the occupants with a very detailed description of how to fix a computer. They believe him but since Chuck has seen her... she has to kill him. At that moment Sarah and Casey burst in, the henchmen fire back. La Ciudad jumps to the balcony below where Chuck's old Stanford acquaintance is crying to someone about the SEC knowing everything. He screams when he sees the woman break into his room and one of the henchmen go flying past the window to the ground. Sarah and Casey untie Chuck as La Ciudad and the one remaining henchman escape and vow to "take out" Chuck.

Finally at home Chuck walks in to see Ellie asleep on the couch waiting for him. When he covers her up she wakes up and has a bunch of questions about Sarah and the whole relationship. None of which he can answer. He kind of blows her off leaving her a little hurt and confused as to why he wont talk to her about this. She tell hims about Morgan's situation and he goes over there to save him. He send Morgan home and decides to finish the computer work alone and thinks it would be nice to do something he is good at, i.e. not spy stuff.

Morning comes and right as Chuck finishes Big Mike comes in to see if Chuck is finished. He expresses surprise that Chuck actually completed it in two days since it wasn't really a deadline that had been given but an incentive. Then he looks lovingly at his cookie before taking a bite, while Chuck humbly explains that his team did most of the work. Big Mike tells him that the first rule of management is to always take credit. At that moment Harry Tang walks in with empty cans and tells Big Mike that people have been drinking in the store. Big Mike tells Tang to loosen up and Chuck that while he needs to keep it out of the store, he gets extra points for style (still in his tuxedo).

As Morgan tells of his horrific night trapped in the store, Casey approaches Chuck to tell him what has happened based on the events of the previous night. It seems like the federal government was going to catch La Ciudad and all is going to be fine. Case closed. Then Chuck sees La Ciudad's henchmen walk into the Buy More and ducks. Tang sees him hiding when one of the henchmen ask Tang if he can show him where Chuck is. Tang gladly does so but Chuck as already crawled away.

Outside a delivery woman (La Ciudad) walks, with a long package, walks past Sarah... both of them realize the others identity. Sarah ducks and contacts Casey. Casey has already seen the henchmen and is tailing one of them. Chuck tries to lead them off his trail by using the intercom to announce to the store that he is in the storage cage. One henchman asks Casey where the storage cage is and Casey says he will take him there. La Ciudad has climbed to the top of Weinerlicious and is building a sniper rifle as Sarah starts to climb up. Morgan points out where Chuck is hiding to the other henchman and Chuck flees. Casey beats down one of the henchmen in the refrigerator section while Sarah and La Ciudad fight on the roof. Chuck scrambles into the back room closely followed by the henchman, who walks right into the cage. Chuck closes it on him but the henchman opens it right up. Apparently it had been fixed. As the henchman aims to shoot Chuck a microwave collides with the henchman's head, thrown by Casey. Outside Sarah finally beats La Ciudad.

Back at the Bartowski residence, Chuck tries to explain to his sister why he can't talk about Sarah with her. He tries to find a way to talk to her about it and it turns out his sister just wants him to be happy and only wanted to know if he was truly into Sarah or not. After a nice family hug, the door bell rings. Both Morgan and Sarah are at the door. As Chuck walks Sarah to her car he tells her about his frustrations with doing all this spy stuff but having no one know what he is really doing, how he still has to work at the Buy More, and how he doesn't really feel like a hero. She says he is and that both he and she knows it. They discuss how if they were really dating they would kiss right about now but try to talk about it like it isn't desirable and then Sarah abruptly walks away. Morgan walks out and makes a comment about how creepy Casey is, as Casey is peeping at them through the blinds of his own apartment across the court yard. Then they head back inside.

Episode Recap
Chuck, who has had all of the government's top secret information downloaded into his brain, is standing in the Buy More parking lot when he sees something and starts running at full speed. A voice over starts with Chuck introducing himself and his new spy life. We flash inside the Buy More where Harry Tang is complaining to Chuck that the current display is done wrong since it has a Large Mart table cloth. Morgan says he will fix it by performing the old magic trick of ripping a table cloth out from under all of the items on the table. This does not work and everything falls off the table. It flashes back to parking lot where Chuck is still running and a voice over keeps explaining his spy situation and introducing the main characters. He is seen chasing Casey, the NSA agent sent to protect him and works at the Buy More, who is chasing some kid through the parking lot. Casey is chasing a shoplifter and Chuck is trying to make sure Casey doesn't hurt the kid. The kid is caught and Chuck prevents Casey from punching him.

After saving the shoplifter Chuck looks across the parking lot to a store called "Wienerlicious" and sees Sarah, the CIA's secret agent guarding him and posing as his girlfriend, over there. He goes into the store to find out what she is doing over there. She is working there as a cover so she can keep an eye on Chuck, who works for the Nerd Herd, at the Buy More. Chuck is worried that there isn't a plan to get these government secrets out of his brain but Sarah assure him that they have a plan. She suggests they go on a "date" that night to discuss the situation further.

At the Bartowski residence Chuck is trying on shirts for his date with Sarah with help from his sister, Ellie. Ellie is upset that Morgan, who is in the room playing video games, has met Sarah but she hasn't. She plans a group meal at the house the following day.

In Washington Sarah and Casey's superiors are discussing how unfortunate it is that the secrets from the Intersect computer have been transfered to an idiot. But they have arrange for Chuck to meet with the NSA's top scientist to try and fix it.

Sarah pulls up in a every nice car to pick Chuck up for their "date." She takes him to the Buy More where they meet Casey and explains that they will be meeting a doctor that worked on the Intersect computer and that this will hopefully lead to getting the secrets out of Chuck's brain. They put him inside the home theater room with a head set, where he will have to see a few images tell the doctor what they are. He isn't, however, allowed to see the doctor for his own safety.

The doctor arrives and is a little confused about why is isn't allowed to see his patient. He starts the test and Chuck starts naming off what the images are. Dog, Hippo, etc, until the "encoded images start and then he starts spouting out government secrets until the test is over. The doctor is shocked that all of the Intersect secrets could be in one mind and then says he thinks he will be able to remove the information from Chuck. Sarah then takes Chuck home for the night. The doctor is seen driving in the desert when a phone in his back seat starts to ring. The car moves behind a rock and explodes.

The next morning Ellie comes in with the news paper and shows Chuck an article about Bryce's death. According to the article Bryce died in a bank robbery. In the desert Casey and Sarah are digging through what is left of the doctor's car when Sarah finds the charred remains of the cell phone that was last seen ringing in the doctor's back seat. She hides this discovery from Casey and leave the site. Casey, on the phone with his Superior, says he thinks it was a CIA job as he watches Sarah drive away.

Back at the Buy More, Casey comes up to Chuck and whispers to him that he can't trust Sarah. But Big Mike interrupts them and tells Chuck he needs to train Casey on how to improve his customer service skills. As he tried to teach Casey he gets a message from Sarah to meet him ASAP. He tries to fool Casey into doing some role playing with Morgan and slips out to meet Sarah.

At the Wienerlicious there is a group of young boys staring at Sarah while she works. Chuck comes in and that scares all of them away. She says he can't have any private meeting with Casey but Chuck says that he said the same thing about her. She shows him the cell phone which he has a memory flash of. The cellphone is an NSA bomb that destroys all biological traces. Sarah describes Casey as a killer and reminds Chuck that he tried to kill both of them just a little while ago.

When he goes back in the Buy More to see Morgan and Casey but things are not going so well. Casey knocks Morgan to the ground. He then grabs Chuck and demands to know what he talking about with Sarah, but then leaves. He crosses the parking lot to the Wienerlicious where they start fighting. A customer comes in and Casey escapes out the back. Back at the Buy More, Lester gives Chuck a computer errand to run. He is driving around when a SUV bumps into his Nerd Herd car. It is Casey. He calls Chuck on his cellphone and reveals that he was the one that called in the house call. Chuck freaks out, thinking that Casey is the one that killed the doctor and now he is going to hill him. Chuck drives off, trying to escape, with Casey close behind him. Casey crashes into Chuck and makes him stop. Casey shows him his wounds from his fight with Sarah and says that she is rogue, that she is the one that killed the doctor and and just tried to kill him.

Sarah tries to call Chuck but Casey convinces him not to answer and they get into Casey's car. A phone starts to ring and they look in the back seat and see an NSA phone bomb and run from the car before it explodes. Casey says that Sarah is "cleaning house" which means she is killing off everyone she has come in contact with. This reminds Chuck that his sister is having Sarah over for dinner that night and he rushes to go save her.

He gets home to find Morgan, Ellie, Devon (aka Captain Awesome), and Sarah waiting for him. He tries to get them to eat out, some place public so Sarah can't kill them but it doesn't work. Casey appears at the door with quiches and joins the dinner party. As Chuck gets a chair for him, Casey reminds Chuck of a time that Sarah poisoned a group of French diplomats at dinner. Ellie tells Chuck that Sarah had brought desert. He rushes to keep everyone from eating Sarah's desert he makes a awkward toast. When that doesn't stall them very long he tries to do the same trick Morgan attempted at the start of the episode. Except this time Chuck pulls it off and takes the table cloth right out from under the dishes. Everything stays put except the candle in the middle, next to Sarah's desert. Casey bumps the table and the candle falls over and lights the desert on fire. Everyone screams and Chuck rushes it into the bathroom, pours water on it and stomps on it.

Sarah asks for a moment alone to speak with Chuck. She asks him what Casey said about her and he mentions that they think she killed the doctor and are after them. He asks her about the French Diplomats that she killed and she said they were French assassins. She says that she never asked him to believe her but to trust her. She has a epiphany about who might have killed the doctor since neither she nor Casey killed him and leaves the house. Chuck follows close behind and so does Casey. Before they can catch Sarah she is kidnapped by the doctor who everyone thought was dead. Casey and Chuck get into Chuck's car to chase them down. Casey had laced his quiches with microbots. But unfortunately the only person who ate them was Morgan. With nothing to track Sarah with, Casey is ready to give up but Chuck wont quit. He frantically suggests some ideas which Casey agrees with and they find a warehouse where a helicopter is about to take off from.

Chuck is told to stay in the car as Casey goes in to get Sarah and capture the doctor. As Chuck is waiting he sees the doctor come out of a different building than the one Casey went into. He gets out of the car and enters the building he saw the doctor exit from. Inside the warehouse Sarah is chained to a poll. Upon seeing Chuck she tells him that she tells him that he has to leave. He finds her something to pick the lock with right as the doctor comes back inside. Chuck hides from him as the doctor starts to interrogate Sarah about the location of the human Intersect.

When Chuck sees the needle the doctor is about to stick into Sarah he makes a noise that alerts the doctor to his location he tries to run but the doctor stops him. When Chuck sees him he has a memory flash and sees that the doctor has been selling government science to North Korea. This information lets the doctor know that Chuck is the human Intersect and shoots him with a tranquilizer dart. The doctor is planning on selling Chuck to other countries. He drags Chuck onto the helicopter and they take off as Casey finds Sarah and frees her.

In the helicopter Chuck wakes up after he realizes he only fainted from the idea of being shot with a large needle. He sees the tranquilizer gun and grabs it. He tells them to land but the doctor tries to grab the gun from him. Chuck accidentally shoots the pilot with a dart and knocks him out. Chuck and the doctor wrestle and the doctor gets knocked out. Chuck hops into the pilot seat to try and figure out how to land. Back on the dock, Sarah realizes that Chuck is not the one who is flying. Casey calls Chuck to try and figure out a way to land it but Sarah ends up taking over. Telling him to use the controls like they are a video game, because they games were designed after the real Helicopters. With this knowledge, and constant guidance from Sarah, Chuck is able to land the helicopter.

When he gets out of the helicopter he is very pleased with himself but Sarah is very mad at him. Sarah tells him that the things he know are incredibly important and that everything fell apart when he stopped trusting her and didn't follow directions. She ays she is not a double agent like Bryce and if Chuck can't trust her then all three of them will go back to Washington and Chuck does not want that to happen. Then Sarah storms off.

The next morning Chuck is preparing to go to Bryce's funeral. At the funeral he sees Sarah there but she leaves without talking to him. Casey is further back talking on the phone to his superior. She says that in 6 months the new Intersect will be up and running and that after that, Casey will "do what [he] does best" with regards to Chuck.

Chuck goes to see Sarah at Wienerlicious later and apologizes to her. She apologizes as well but not before expressing how important and dangerous everything is. And how without the doctor to remove the secrets he will be doing more spy stuff and have to lie even more to his friends and family. He begrudgingly accepts. Right then Ellie, Devon, and Morgan walk into Wienerlicious to try and give the dinner another shot right there.
